Carolina Welcomes Two Nonconference Foes for Midweek Games

CHAPEL HILL – Winning six of their past seven games, the Tar Heels continue their homestand with a pair of non-conference games vs. Coastal Carolina and Liberty on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

Tuesday's game vs. Coastal Carolina is slated for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Carolina faces the Flames at 6 p.m. Check back on GoHeels.com for updates. Admission is free to Anderson Stadium. Fans unable to attend can watch live on the ACC Network Extra or follow live stats at unclivestats.com.

Recently for Carolina (22-13, 11-4 ACC)
Limiting the Hoos to six hits in three games, North Carolina downed UVA 8-0 in five innings three times for the second ACC sweep of the season. The Tar Heels hit .492 as a team while UNC's pitchers limited Virgina to a .122 average, allowing a mere 11 base runners throughout the weekend. Leah Murray and Kiani Ramsey each had two multi-hit games while Kristina Burkhardt, Berlynne Delamora, Campbell Hutcherson and Brittany Pickett each had one. Slugging 1.286 on the weekend, Megan Dray had the power for Carolina with two home runs while Lexi Godwin struck her first career homer and Pickett hit her second of the season.
» The Tar Heels outscored Virginia, 24-0 in the series, marking first time in program history that Carolina did not allow a run in a three-game ACC series (beginning in 2005). This is the first time that UNC did not allow a run in three straight games since 2014.
» Leah Murray struck her 200th career hit in the series.
» Berlynne Delamora drew her 123rd career walk to reset the program record.

About Coastal Carolina (29-10, 9-6 Sun Belt)
On a four-game winning streak, Coastal Carolina travels to UNC Tuesday before hosting Texas State, Friday through Sunday. The Chanticleers scored 14 runs on the road at South Alabama before coming to Carolina. Sophomore Courtney Dean leads CCU with a .342 average and nearly 40 hits.

Winners of eight of their past nine games, Liberty kicks off a six-game roadtrip at North Carolina. The Flames are coming off back-to-back ASUN sweeps of FGCU and Stetson. Pitchers Julia DiMartino and Chase Cassady pace the Flames with ERAs both under 1.40.
