Softball Drops Game To No. 13 Virginia Tech, 14-5

BLACKSBURG, Va. – UNC softball fell to No. 13 Virginia Tech on Saturday, 14-5.

The UNC bats rolled early, scoring three runs in the first before recording an out thanks to a bases clearing double by Shelby Barbee. The three RBI move Barbee into fourth all time for a single season.

In the bottom half, the Hokies tied things up. The Carolina bats go right back to work though as Lexie Roberts drove two more home with a single to put UNC back in front 5-3.

Virginia Tech responded with a grand slam and then a three run homer to take a commanding 10-5 lead in the third.

Virginia Tech went on to win 14-5.
