Tar Heels Come Up Short to No. 5 Tennessee
March 20, 2019 | Softball
CHAPEL HILL – Despite limiting the 11th-highest scoring offense to five hits, North Carolina dropped a 2-0 decision to No. 5 Tennessee on Wednesday at Anderson Stadium.
Â
The Lady Vols' RBI-single in the first inning would be all they to clinch the win over UNC. Berlynne Delamora broke up Ashley Rogers' perfect game with a single in the fifth. Carolina put a runner in scoring position in the sixth, but Tennessee held the Tar Heels at one hit.
Â
Up next, UNC hosts Georgia Tech Friday through Sunday at Anderson Stadium. With the setback to Tennessee, Carolina falls to 15-10 while UT improves to 24-4.

» Both Megan Dray and Abby Settlemyre battled through a 10-pitch at-bats in the second.
» Brittany Pickett caught the last batter of the third looking for her first strikeout of the day.
» The Lady Vols tacked on another run as Jenna Holcomb sent a triple to left field before scoring on a UNC miscue.
