GAINESVILLE, FLA. -- Stephanie Brombacher tossed a four-hit shutout to lead No. 5 Florida over No. 22 North Carolina 10-0 Sunday at Pressly Stadium. Tisha Mahon registered two hits to lead the Tar Heels, who fall to 4-4 on the young season.

Mahon's two hits led the North Carolina attack that was again plagued by leaving six runners on base. Senior Brittany McKinney and sophomore Haleigh Dickey each registered a hit apiece.
North Carolina continued to struggle in manufacturing runs, stranding two base runners in the opening frame. Florida answered in the bottom of the first scoring two runs on three hits. A one-out bases loaded two RBI double off the bat of Megan Bush gave the Gators a 2-0 advantage after one frame.
An Aja Paculba two-RBI double followed by a Kelsey Bruder two-run home run stretched the Gators lead to 6-0 in the second frame.
rombacher proved to bend, but not break in the circle the first few innings. The Tar Heels hit many balls hard and posted three hits early, but had no runs to show for it.
The Gators added to their lead in the fourth after loading the bases with no outs on three straight Tar Heel walks. A two-RBI double off the bat of Cheyenne Coyle highlighted the big inning for the Gators, who manufactured four runs on just two hits.
rombacher hurled a scoreless fifth frame to give the Gators a 10-0 victory and series sweep of the Tar Heels.
Carolina returns to action Wednesday traveling to UNC Wilmington for a 3 p.m. contest. The Tar Heels then host the 2011 Carolina Classic with their home opener Friday against Georgetown.
