More on Rodriguez
Why I chose Carolina: It is the best blend of getting stellar golf, academics and a career
The best thing about going to Carolina is: Getting to do two things that I love (golf and study) while not giving up on either of them. Sometimes you have to choose either academics or sports because not many schools have the advantage of having incredible programs in both, like Carolina does.
The best thing about being a Tar Heel golfer: getting to share moments along with incredible teammates who only want each other to succeed
Best career competitive round: 67 (-5) 2016 TRANS Amateur Championship in Saint Louis, Missouri
Greatest shot: It was the final round of my first Junior Heritage Invitational that I had played in Harbour Town. I was on hole number 5, which at the moment was my hole 14 and I was paired in the second to last group. Pretty tough par-5 coming up, so I decided to played it smart: driver, lay-up to my favorite yardage. I lay it up to 150 because my driver ended up in a fairway bunker. From 150 yards in, I hit my 6 iron and made the most amazing eagle to be tied for second in the tournament.
Favorite golf course: Harbour Town, Hilton Head Island, S.C. because of its breathtaking views on 17 and 18
Favorite golfer: Lorena Ochoa
My golf superstition: Switch balls after making a bogey
The best golf advice I have recieved: There are no bad shots in golf, it is the perspective you take on them
Area of my game I have most improved: short game, especially putting
My go-to club in my bag is my: 7-iron
Dream golf foursome including me: Adam Scott, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth
Post-college ambitions: Work on the PGA Tour or LPGA
Favorite TV Show: How to Get Away with Murder
Favorite vacation spot: Carribean beaches
Favorite Music: Reggaeton and EDM
Favorite non-golfer athlete: Roger Federer
Favorite Tar Heel athlete: Michael Jordan
Best-tasting food I make: Brownie Waffles
People I most admire: My parents for their huge sacrifices and efforts to get me where I am now
Hidden Talents: Film photography, flute
Hobbies: Tennis, hiking, ping pong
