CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Marci Killeen's 87th minute goal served as the difference maker for Boston College (6-4-6, 1-4-3 ACC), defeating No. 8 North Carolina (9-3-4, 4-3-1 ACC), 1-0.
How It Happened
• Riley Thomas' header in the 19th minute was halted by Boston College's Brennan Klein.
• Just minutes later, Sam Williams' shot attempt was denied.
• Before the half, Tate Lorentz's effort was saved, entering the half tied.
• Opening the second half, the Tar Heels' shot attempts in the 47th, 54th and 58th were saved.
• In the 71st, Charlie Harper's header after a Carolina corner kick was denied.
• Three minutes after, Luke Hille sent a shot into the Eagles' goalkeeper.
• Killee's game-winner from outside the box nailed top right corner of the goal, lifting Boston College to the victory.
