May 26, 2026 | Women's Tennis
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association officially released the 2026 All-America honorees Tuesday afternoon. Carolina women's tennis had two singles, and four doubles reach All-America status this season. The team tied for the most All-America selections in the nation with six. Reese Brantmeier and Oby Kajuru represent the Tar Heels in both singles and doubles. In doubles, Alanis Hamilton and Susanna Maltby were also named All-America.
Brantmeier has now earned All-America honors in both singles and doubles each season she has been eligible. This makes the senior 10-for-10 on All-America selections across her career, becoming the first player in program history to do so.
Playing alongside Brantmeier in doubles, Alanis Hamilton has racked up her third All-America nod since coming to Carolina. The pair recorded an overall record of 22-6 this year, and ranked no. 4 in the final ITA rankings this season.
In her first season at UNC, Oby Kajuru earned the distinction of All-America in singles and doubles this spring. The graduate wrapped up her collegiate career ranking no. 7 in the final ITA rankings after compiling a 28-9 record this year.
After finishing the season ranked no. 10 with 19 total wins, Susanna Maltby and Kajuru were named All-America in doubles. The duo also reached All-America status in the fall after advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship. This marks Maltby's third honor of her career.
The criteria for ITA All-America singles honors include winning the ITA All-American Championship, advancing to the round of 16 at the NCAA Individual Championships, or finishing in the top 20 of the final ITA Singles Rankings. All-America recognition is awarded to doubles teams who win the ITA All-American Championship, reach the NCAA Championship quarterfinals, or finish in the top 10 in the final ITA National Doubles Rankings.
