CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference released the 2026 Women's Tennis Academic Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year honoree Friday afternoon. For the second consecutive season, Reese Brantmeier was tabbed Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Three Tar Heels were also featured on the All-ACC Academic Team. Alongside Brantmeier, Tatum Evans and Theadora Rabman earned a spot on the academic team.
The back-to-back ACC Player of the Year, Brantmeier, recently completed her studies at Carolina. She double majored in exercise and sport science and studio art with a minor in global cinema. The Wisconsin native excelled both on and off the tennis court during her time at UNC. Brantmeier picked up two consecutive Elite Scholar Athlete awards from the NCAA, was named the 2025 ACC Scholar-Athlete, and a member of the All-ACC Academic Team for three straight seasons.
For the third consecutive season, Evans also made the All-ACC Academic Team. Evans is currently pursuing a degree in media and journalism and was recently named Second Team Academic All-America. The junior also made the CSC Academic All-District Team this season.
Rabman is a double major in media and journalism and exercise and sport science. The junior has been a consistent member of the Tar Heels' lineups during her career while still maintaining success in the classroom. The academic nod from the league marks her third straight.
The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award was established to award the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports each year. Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team include a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative grade point average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
