Women’s Tennis Signs Khirin

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina women's tennis and head coach Brian Kalbas announced the signing of graduate transfer, Nicole Khirin, Tuesday morning. The addition will bolster the Tar Heels' 2026-27 roster as Khirin brings all-America and national championship experience to Chapel Hill.
Khirin spent the previous three seasons at Texas A&M. As an Aggie, she compiled a 60-15 record in singles and went 47-19 in doubles. Khirin also recorded 33 ranked wins in singles action. During her sophomore season, Khirin helped lead the team to a national championship. The Israel native recorded both match-clinching points in the national semifinals and finals, securing All-Tournament Team honors. As a junior, Khirin earned All-America honors and a season-high national ranking of no. 11 in singles.
Prior to her time in College Station, Khirin played at Texas during her freshman season. Khirin had a standout rookie season where she was tabbed Big 12 Player of the Year and Big 12 Rookie of the Year. As a Longhorn, Khirin tallied 16 singles wins and eight in doubles. She was also awarded Big 12 Individual Champion at no. 1 singles. Khirin reached a career-high ITA singles ranking of no. 1 during the 2023 season.
Before her collegiate career, Khirin reached a singles WTA ranking of no. 419 while winning several titles. She claimed the 2021 Israeli National Singles Championship, an ITF singles title at the 15K event in Greece, and three ITF doubles championships including the 25K title in Israel in 2022.
