Women's Lacrosse To Take On Maryland In NCAA Semis Friday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 2 seed North Carolina will open its seccond consecutive Final Four and 15th overall when it takes on Maryland on Friday, May 22 at 3 p.m. ET at Martin Stadium in Evanston, Ill. The Tar Heels and Terrapins will meet for the first time since 2000 in the semifinal contest.

- UNC is looking to win its fifth NCAA championship and its second consecutive title, having won the Tournament in 2013, '16, '22 and '25.

- The nation's best player, Chloe Humphrey, has followed up her record-breaking freshman season with another outrageous year. She is also tied for the team lead with 21 caused turnovers this season. For her career, Humphrey's 192 goals are tied for third all-time at UNC and her 266 points are third. Her 74 assists are 10th in school history.
- Eliza Osburn has been stuffing the stat sheet in '26. After 19 games, Osburn has 30 goals (fourth on the team), 18 assists (third on the team), 24 groundballs (fourth on the team), 15 caused turnovers and 39 draw controls (third on the team).
- Addison Pattillo has come into her own during her sophomore campaign. She's second on the team in goals with 55. She's also added 14 assists, 17 groundballs and 17 caused turnovers.
- Kate Levy has been a stable presence for the Heels as a sophomore. She's tallied 26 goals and 14 assists, while adding 27 groundballs (second on the team), 21 caused turnovers (tied for team lead) and 10 draw controls.
- Sarah Gresham and Kaleigh Harden have taken over the draw for Carolina. The pair have tallied 96 and 87, respectively. Thanks to this duo, the Heels rank first in the league and fifth nationally with 16.1 draw controls per game.
- Sam Forrest has been the nation's best defender for the better part of two seasons. She's tasked with marking the opponents' best attacker and normally stifles them. An elite one-one-one defender, she's the leader of a unit that is allowing just 7.6 goals per game, while causing 9.8 turnovers per game.
