Women’s Lacrosse Claims ACC Regular Season Title With Win Over Stanford

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 2 North Carolina women's lacrosse claimed its 12th ACC Regular Season Championship and its ninth outright title after defeating No. 12 Stanford 18-9 on Friday at Dorrance Field. As a result, the Heels will be the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament in two weeks.
Chloe Humphrey led the way by matching her single-game high with eight goals to go along with two assists. Addison Pattillo and Darcy Felter each posted hat tricks, while Eliza Osburn added two goals and two assists.
Sarah Gresham was in control of the draw circle and finished with a season-high 11 draw controls to help UNC win the category 20-8. The Heel's keepers made nine saves on the evening with Lexi Zenk producing five and Betty Nelson saving four.

- Chloe Humphrey got the Heels on the board with 6:38 left in the first to tie the game 1-1.
- A cagey affair saw the first quarter end with Stanford leading 2-1. Betty Nelson made three saves in the period.
- Addison Pattillo tied things at two with a free-position goal at 13:11 in the second.
- Humphrey netted her second on a free position to give UNC a 3-2 lead.
- Eliza Osburn converted another free position to make it 4-2 UNC with 9:32 left in the first half.
- Humphrey with her hat trick off a nice feed from Pattillo.
- After UNC wisely called a timeout to avoid a turnover, Humphrey converted another free position to push Carolina's lead to 6-3.
- Stanford scored two in a row but Humphrey dunked one to make it 7-5 with 1:02 left in the second.
- Kaleigh Harden opened the scoring in the second with a free position to make it 8-5.
- Darcy Felter buried a free position to push the lead to four.
- Stanford answered back with two straight to make it 9-7.
- Felter scored another free position to make it 10-7 with 2:14 left in the third.
- Pattillo scored her second of the game to give UNC an 11-7 lead heading into the fourth.
- Kate Levy opened the fourth by dodging two defenders and burying it for a 12-7 lead.
- GraceAnn Leonard caused a turnover on one end and Osburn fed Humphrey for sixth and a six-goal lead.
- Pattillo with her hat trick on a feed from Humphrey to make it 14-7.
- Humphrey rocketed in a free position for her seventh of the game and a 15-7 lead.
- Humphrey with her eighth from Caroline Godine to make it 16-8.
- Felter's third from Osburn made it 17-8.
- Osburn sniped her second to push the lead to 10 on an assist from Humphrey.
Tar Heel Tidbits
- UNC has now won 12 ACC regular season titles, including nine outright. The other outright titles came in 1998, 2012, '15, '16, '17, '21, '22 and '25.
- Chloe Humphrey posted her 30th career hat trick in 35 games. It was her 19th game with at least five goals.
- Humphrey's eight goals tied her career high.
- Addison Pattillo notched the 11th hat trick of her career.
