Brantmeier & Hamilton Collect ACC Weekly Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced women's tennis weekly awards Tuesday afternoon. For the third time this season, Reese Brantmeier was tabbed ACC Player of the Week. Brantmeier and her doubles partner Alanis Hamilton were also named ACC Doubles Team of the Week. This marks the second week this season the duo won the award.
Brantmeier had another standout week for Carolina going 3-0 in singles and doubles. In singles, the senior picked up three ranked wins including a top-15 victory over Irina Balus from Duke. Brantmeier won each singles match in straight sets. She is 14-1 in singles play and 5-1 in ACC action so far this season. Brantmeier's play helped guide the Tar Heels to a 3-0 week including two top-25 wins.
In doubles, Brantmeier and Hamilton cruised to a 3-0 week with two victories over ranked opponents. The duo opened the week with a 6-4 win over no. 84 Eleana Yu and Claire An from Duke. They went on to top no. 90 Romana Cisovska and Talia Neilson-Gatenby from Clemson and Alejandra Cruz and Serie Nayuki from Georgia Tech. The Tar Heel pair played an instrumental role in helping Carolina sweep all their doubles matches over the week.
