No. 1 Women's Lacrosse To Play Syracuse In ACC Tourney Semis Friday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 1 North Carolina will play No. 6 Syracuse in the ACC Tournament semifinals at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte on Friday at 5 p.m. The Tar Heels defeated Duke, 15-11, in the quarterfinals on Thursday to advance. This will be the 23rd match-up between the two schools with Carolina holding a 14-8 edge.
The Heels' game with the Orange will air on ACC Network. Jay Alter, Sheehan Stanwick Burch and Charlotte North will have the call.

- UNC is seeking its ninth ACC Championship having won the title in 2002, '16, '17, '18, '19, '21, '22 and '25. It's already secured its 12 ACC Regular Season Championship with the others coming in 1998, 2012, '15, '16, '17, '21, '22, '25.
- This will be the 23rd match-up between UNC and Syracuse with Carolina holding the edge, 14-8.
- Carolina is currently outscoring its opponents 279-111 (+168), which leads the nation. Last season, the Tar Heels led the nation in scoring margin at +233 (384-151).
- Carolina's defense held opponents to 6.9 goals per game in 2025, which ranked first in both the ACC and NCAA. This year, the Heels are holding opponents to 7.1 goals per game, which ranks fourth nationally and first in the ACC.
- The nation's best player, Chloe Humphrey, has followed up her record-breaking freshman season with another outrageous year. Her 83 goals and 118 points lead the nation and her 35 assists are tied for 22nd. Humphrey's 83 goals are second on UNC's sinlge-season list and her 118 points are tied for second. She also leads the team with 20 caused turnovers this season. For her career, Humphrey's 173 goals are sixth all-time at UNC and her 236 points are seventh. Her 63 assists are 13th all-time in school history.
- Eliza Osburn has been stuffing the stat sheet in '26. After 15 games, Osburn has 26 goals (fourth on the team), 16 assists (third on the team), 19 groundballs (fourth on the team), 12 caused turnovers and 29 draw controls (third on the team).
- Addison Pattillo has come into her own during her sophomore campaign. She's second on the team in goals with 42. She's also added eight assists, 16 groundballs and 14 caused turnovers.
- Kate Levy has been a stable presence for the Heels as a sophomore. She's tallied 21 goals and eight assists, while adding 23 groundballs (leads team), 18 caused turnovers (second on the team) and nine draw controls.
- Sarah Gresham and Kaleigh Harden have taken over the draw for Carolina. The pair have tallied 72 and 69, respectively. Thanks to this duo, the Heels rank first in the league and seventh nationally with 16 draw controls per game.
- Sam Forrest and Brooklyn Walker-Welch make up the most formidable defensive duo in the country. They lead a unit that is allowing just 7.1 goals per game, while causing 10.6 turnovers per game. GraceAnn Leonard has also been a force this season and is third on the team with 16 caused turnovers to go along with 22 groundballs and 22 draw controls.
