CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The second-ranked North Carolina men's lacrosse team travels north for the ACC/Ivy Challenge this weekend, facing No. 19 Penn (Friday) and No. 10 Princeton (Sunday).

Last Time Out - Johns Hopkins
• The attackmen duo of Dominic Pietramala and Owen Duffy combined for nine goals, pacing the Tar Heels over No. 14 Johns Hopkins, 17-9.
• With the win, the Tar Heels advanced to 4-0 on the season, securing Carolina's first ranked win of the campaign.
• In addition to the Carolina duo, eight different Tar Heels posted one goal in the win.
• Josh Marcus stopped 12 shots on the night, a career-best for the freshman.
• Brady Wambach went 20-29 at the faceoff X, adding 13 ground balls.
• After Friday, Carolina is 17-0 when allowing single-digit goals in the last three seasons, including three-straight wins this year.

A Win Over Penn Would...
• Give Carolina their 11th win over the Quakers, and the first in Philadelphia since 1991.
• Help the Tar Heels start 5-0 for first time since 2021.
• Give Carolina their second ranked win of the 2026 campaign.
• Be Coach Breschi's 266th career victory and 174th win as the head coach of the Tar Heels.

Back At The Top
• This week, the Tar Heels earned the top spot in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll, earning nine first-place votes.
• The No. 1 ranking for the Tar Heels is the first in the media poll since March 22, 2021. In addition, Carolina holds both No. 1 media poll rankings in men's and women's lacrosse.
• In the USILA Coaches Poll, Carolina was slotted No. 2, the first top-three ranking since May 10, 2021 (No. 2).

Ivy League Stretch
• Starting Friday at Penn, Carolina will play three-straight Ivy League programs for the first time in program history:
    - Friday, Feb. 27 at Penn
    - Sunday, March 1 at Princeton
    - Saturday, March 7 vs. Brown
• Under Coach Breschi, Carolina is 11-3 against the three programs.

Wambach At The Stripe
• Entering Friday, faceoff specialist Brady Wambach ranks fifth among active Division I players with 437 faceoff wins:
    1. Micah Hanson (Canisius): 601
    2. Andrew McMeekin (Princeton): 496
    3. Jack Cascadden (Cornell): 448
    4. John Mullen (Syracuse): 438
    5. Brady Wambach (North Carolina): 437
        - 2024: 146 faceoff wins

• In 2025, Wambach earned USILA First Team All-America honors, becoming the first Tar Heel to collect First Team recognition since R.G. Keenan in 2012.
