Men’s Lacrosse Falls To No. 2 Notre Dame, 10-5

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Top-ranked North Carolina men's lacrosse fell to No. 2 Notre Dame, 10-5, Saturday afternoon in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
With the win, Notre Dame becomes the nation's top-ranked team at 8-1 (1-1 ACC), as the Tar Heels fall to 10-2 (1-1 ACC).
How It Happened
• Carolina led 2-0 after the opening 15 minutes, with Dominic Pietramala and Brevin Wilson scoring man-up goals for the visiting Tar Heels.
• Notre Dame scored three-straight goals to begin the second quarter, taking a 3-2 lead with seven minutes left in the half.
• With 4:16 left in the second quarter, Owen Duffy stopped the Fighting Irish run with his 23rd goal of the season. Notre Dame entered the half leading by one, 4-3.
• Parker Hoffman opened the second half scoring off the opening faceoff with an assist from Brady Wambach, tying the matchup at four-all just 12 seconds into the third quarter.
• Notre Dame would close the quarter scoring three of the four goals, taking a 7-5 lead into the fourth.
• The Fighting Irish scored all three of the fourth quarter's goals, securing the victory.
