Pietramala’s Five Goals Lift No. 2 Men’s Lacrosse Over No. 19 Penn, 11-9

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Five goals courtesy of Dominic Pietramala paced the North Carolina men's lacrosse team over No. 19 Penn, 11-9, Friday evening in the ACC/Ivy Challenge.
With the win, the Tar Heels advance to 5-0 for the first time since 2021, securing their second ranked win of the season.
How It Happened
• The visiting Tar Heels led 3-1 after the opening 15 minutes, as Brevin Wilson scored a pair of goals following Dominic Pietramala's opening score.
• In the second, the Quakers scored four-straight goals to begin the stanza, holding a 5-3 lead with 8:24 remaining in the half.
• Pietramala halted the Penn scoring run with two-straight goals in the final 70 seconds, tying the score at five-all entering the break.
• To open the third, the teams each posted two goals in the opening 11 minutes, with Carolina goals from Owen Duffy and a man-up score from Luke Bair.
• Carolina posted two-straight tallies to secure a 9-7 lead after three, with Brady Wambach hitting the back of the net, and a man-up goal from Pietramala.
• Each team scored a pair of goals in the final frame, as Duffy and Pietramala each posted one in the period to secure the victory.
