English Named To Canadian Lacrosse Pan-American Championship Roster

OSHAWA, ONTARIO – North Carolina men's lacrosse alumni Ty English was named to the Canadian Men's Lacrosse Pan-American Championship roster, Lacrosse Canada announced on Saturday.
English, one of 22 players representing Canada, will travel to Kingston, Jamaica from Aug. 16-23 for the event. The inaugural event will serve as a qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Championship held in Tokyo, Japan.
English posted six goals, 39 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers in 2026. The Burlington, Ontario product had five games of four-or-more ground balls, highlighted by a season-high five ground balls in ranked wins versus Penn and Penn State. Additionally, the graduate student recorded three games of two caused turnovers this past spring, finishing the year with USILA second-team All-America recognition.
A two-time team captain during his time in Chapel Hill, English appeared in 65 games posting 35 goals and 12 assists on the offensive side, adding 129 ground balls and 46 caused turnovers. English's 46 caused turnovers were the most by a short-stick in program history.
The 12th-overall pick in the 2026 Premier Lacrosse League College Draft by the Carolina Chaos, English has appeared in seven games during his rookie campaign. English was the seventh Tar Heel selected since the PLL's inception in 2019, previously selected second overall by the Toronto Rock in the 2025 NLL Draft last September.
Canada will open pool play on Aug. 17 versus Mexico, followed by games versus the Haudenosaunee (Aug. 19), U.S. Virgin Islands (Aug. 20) and Argentina (Aug. 21).
