Two Tar Heels To Compete On The Water At World Rowing University Games
July 16, 2025 | Women's Rowing
DUISBERG, Germany – Staying busy this off-season, North Carolina rowing's rising junior Lindsey Troftgruben and incoming freshman Sarah Knox Harper are Germany bound to represent the United States at the 2025 World Rowing University Games from July 25-27.
Troftgruben will be stroking in the eight and Knox is bowing the quad for the U.S. in the international event. Overseen by the International University Sports Federation also known as FISU, the games occur in odd numbered years.
Through her first two seasons at Carolina, Troftgruben has been a key piece of the Tar Heels success on the water. This past year, she raced with the V8 boat all season and assisted UNC to a first-place finish in the petite final at the ACC Championship.Â
A Raleigh native, Harper is set to join the Tar Heels for the 2025-26 campaign. She boasts four years of club experience between Ready Set Row and the Triangle Rowing Club.
