13 Tar Heels Recognized With CRCA Scholar-Athlete Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Promoting excellence on the water and in the classroom, North Carolina rowing exemplifies this with 13 Tar Heels named 2026 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar-Athletes.
To be recognized as a CRCA Scholar-Athlete, awardees must be at least a sophomore and boast a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the fall semester. Student-athletes also must have rowed in at least 75% of spring races in an NCAA eligible boat or raced in an NCAA boat at their conference championship.
Under head coach Erin Neppel this past season, the Tar Heels came in sixth at the ACC Championships after advancing three boats to the Grand Finals.
