Rowing Wraps Day One At Sarasota 2K With Two First-Place Boats

SARASOTA, FLA. – Following the first day of racing at the Sarasota 2K from Nathan Benderson Park, the Tar Heels' three boats each earned a spot in Saturday's grand finals.

In day one of time trials, the V4 crew sped away to a first-place finish in its race and advances to tomorrow's A final. The 2V8 crew took down the likes of a ranked Miami team, Louisville, Kansas, Old Dominion and Kansas State to punch a ticket to the A final.

The V8 finished in second place in its heat, to earn an appearance in tomorrow's A final.

The Tar Heels return to the water Saturday at 9:50 a.m. ET, with a chance to place multiple boats in the finals.
