Rowing Announces Stephen Lindeman As Assistant Coach

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The future of North Carolina rowing is trending up, as head coach Erin Neppel announced the hiring of Stephen Lindeman as an assistant coach following a stint at Catholic University of America.
"We are excited to bring Stephen on board. He brings a passion for teaching and recruiting, and an enthusiasm that will fit in well with our team and staff," said Neppel. "He is already hitting the ground running and we look forward to getting him in front of the team next month!"
"I'm incredibly excited to join the UNC women's rowing staff," said Lindeman. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with an outstanding group of student-athletes and coaches, and I look forward to helping the team continue to grow, compete at the highest level and represent Carolina with pride."
Lindeman joins the Tar Heels after two seasons at Catholic University of America with men's rowing as a graduate assistant and then then an assistant coach. This past season, Lindeman and his colleagues were named the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association's Division III Mid-Atlantic Region's Staff of the Year.
He began his rowing career in South Jersey and Philadelphia at St. Augustine Prep and rowed at Temple from 2011-15. Lindeman graduated from Temple with a degree in English literature.
