John Leonard joined the North Carolina rowing staff as the director of rowing operations and rigger prior to the 2022-23 season.Â
Leonard joined the Tar Heels after serving as the boathouse manager at the University of Kansas. He also owned his own club program, Great River Rowing. A 1989 graduate of the University of Connecticut, Leonard has had stints at UConn and Fairfield University as a coach and program coordinator.Â
