June 10, 2026 | Baseball
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina baseball pitchers Caden Glauber and Jason DeCaro have been given All-America honors by Perfect Game, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Â
Glauber, who yesterday was named Perfect Game's College Co-Freshman of the Year, earned first team status while his teammate DeCaro made the third team. Glauber is the first Tar Heel freshman to earn All-America status since Aaron Sabato in 2019.
Â
The rookie phenom gives Carolina its 29th first team honoree all-time. The duo push the Tar Heels' total up to 70 in program history spread among 61 individuals with 27 being pitchers.Â
Â
Glauber continues to add accolades in a dazzling debut campaign that has seen him make 25 appearances with three starts, leading the Diamond Heels to victory all 25 times. He enters the College World Series with a 2.20 ERA, seventh best in the country, and 99 strikeouts.
Â
On the opposite end of his career, the veteran DeCaro has delivered for UNC all season. Carolina's opening day starter two years in a row, he's racked up an 11-2 record with a 2.28 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 87.0 innings. His 11 wins give him the second most in the country with more games left to play.
Â
Both DeCaro and Glauber graduated high school early to come to Chapel Hill and have more than proven skilled beyond their years.
Â
The duo will continue their 2026 season at the Men's College World Series in Omaha on Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m. ET against Ole Miss live on ESPN.
