Women's Lacrosse Opens NCAA Tournament Play Sunday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 2 seed North Carolina will open NCAA Tournament play on Sunday, May 10 at noon on Dorrance Field. The Tar Heels will face the winner of Friday's Clemson-Davidson game. Carolina defeated Clemson, 12-9, earlier this season in South Carolina, but this would be the first match-up with Davidson since 2020 if the Wildcats were to advance.
The Heels' game on Sunday will air on ESPN+. Mike Guerriere and Dennis Cox will have the call.

For her career, Humphrey's 182 goals are sixth all-time at UNC and her 251 points are fourth. Her 69 assists are 10th all-time in school history.
- Eliza Osburn has been stuffing the stat sheet in '26. After 17 games, Osburn has 29 goals (fourth on the team), 17 assists (third on the team), 21 groundballs (t-fourth on the team), 13 caused turnovers and 34 draw controls (third on the team).
- Addison Pattillo has come into her own during her sophomore campaign. She's second on the team in goals with 49. She's also added nine assists, 16 groundballs and 15 caused turnovers (fourth on the team).
- Kate Levy has been a stable presence for the Heels as a sophomore. She's tallied 25 goals and 10 assists, while adding 24 groundballs (second on the team), 20 caused turnovers (tied for team lead) and 10 draw controls.
- Sarah Gresham and Kaleigh Harden have taken over the draw for Carolina. The pair have tallied 89 and 76, respectively. Thanks to this duo, the Heels rank first in the league and fourth nationally with 16.4 draw controls per game.
- Sam Forrest and Brooklyn Walker-Welch make up the most formidable defensive duo in the country. They lead a unit that is allowing just 7.5 goals per game, while causing 9.7 turnovers per game.
