May 17, 2026 | Men's Golf
North Carolina is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Men's Golf Bryan Regional hosted at Texas A&M's Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas.
The Tar Heels are ranked ninth in the country, coming off the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, where they tied for third in stroke play, beat Clemson in match play in the quarterfinals and lost, 3-2, to Virginia in the semifinals.
The NCAA Bryan Regional includes three rounds of stroke play Monday, May 18, through Wednesday, May 20. The top five teams and the low individual not one of the advancing teams qualify to play in the NCAA Championship May 29-June 3 in Carlsbad, Calif.
The Bryan Regional includes No. 1 seed Texas, No. 2 UNC, No. 3 Tennessee, No. 4 New Mexico, No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 6 TCU, No. 7 UNCW, No. 8 UNLV, No. 9 Colorado, No. 10 Cincinnati, No. 11 Chattanooga and No. 12 Miami (Ohio).
Carolina's lineup features Niall Sheils Donegan, Sihan Sandhu, Grant Roscich, Andrew Riley and Carson Bertagnole with Keaton Vo as the alternate.
UNC has won twice this season (the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational and the Tar Heel Intercollegiate). Bertagnole (Fighting Irish Classic), Sandhu (Augusta Haskins Award Invitational) and Sheils Donegan (Tar Heel Intercollegiate) have won individual titles.
Sheils Donegan (second at 69.26) and Bertagnole (sixth at 70.23) have two of the lowest scoring averages in UNC single-season history.
Other than Bertagnole, a freshman, each of the Tar Heels has previous experience playing in an NCAA postseason tournament, including Sheils Donegan at Northwestern and Vo at Texas and UNC, and Riley, who won the Division II national championship at Palm Beach Atlantic in 2023.
The Tar Heels have advanced from regionals to the NCAA Championship in seven of their last eight appearances in the postseason.
