North Carolina men's golf tied for sixth place Sunday in the Sahalee Players Championship at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash.

Top-ranked Oklahoma State was the only team in the field to shoot below par as the Cowboys won by 28 strokes over runner-up Florida. Washington's Finn Koelle was the medalist at 7-under 209 but Oklahoma State placed four players in the top five, led by Eric Lee, who was second at 5 under.

The Cowboys shot 286-290-284 for a 4-under-par 860 total. The Gators were second at 24 over par, Washington was third (+26), Illinois was fourth (+27), Duke was fifth (+31) and the Tar Heels tied Arizona State for sixth at 32-over 896.

Carolina shot rounds of 299-297-300.

Freshman Asher Vargas (76-73-73) and Carson Bertagnole (79-69-74) led UNC and tied for 14th at 6-over 222.

The Tar Heels return to action September 28 in the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas.
