ACC Men's Golf Semis Suspended, Tar Heels Battling UVA For Spot In Final

North Carolina's ACC Men's Golf Championship semifinal vs. Virginia was suspended Sunday evening due to darkness. Play will resume on Monday at 8:30 a.m. The Cavaliers lead in two matches, the Tar Heels lead in one and two are tied.

Earlier Sunday, Carolina spotted Clemson the first two points but rallied for a 3-2 win after victories by Grant Roscich, Niall Sheils Donegan and Sihan Sandhu.

Sandhu provided the winning point when he birdied the 16th and 17th holes in his match to first tie and then take the lead. He halved the final hole with Colin Salema to secure a 1-up win and send the Tar Heels to the semifinals against the Cavaliers.

In the semifinal, which began after a two-hour weather delay, Roscich has a 1-up lead with three holes to play, while Andrew Riley and Carson Bertagnole's matches are all square. Sheils Donegan stormed back from three holes down to take a brief lead but is 1 down with five holes remaining. Sandhu is 2 down through 12 holes.

In the other semifinal, Florida State has won two points and leads in a match, while Stanford has one point and another match is all square.

The championship match will begin shortly after the conclusion of the semifinals.
