Sophomore Grant Roscich shot 2-under-par 70 and North Carolina was even par for the second round in the NCAA Men's Golf Championship Saturday on the North Course at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.

Roscich made six birdies to post the low round of the day for ninth-seeded UNC. The six birdies equal the most by any Tar Heel in a round at La Costa in either the 2024 or 2026 NCAA Championship (Carson Bertagnole made six on Friday in the first round).

Carolina is tied for ninth at 1-under-par 575. The Tar Heels have shot rounds of 1 under and even in the first 36 holes.

Top-seed Auburn compiled the low round of the day, 16-under 272, and is atop the leader board at 20 below par. The Tigers are eight shots ahead of Texas and Vanderbilt (-12). UCLA and Oklahoma State are tied for fourth (-7), Arizona, Duke and Virginia are tied for sixth (-4) and the Tar Heels are tied for ninth with Pepperdine.

Bertagnole (69-72) is 3-under 141, Niall Sheils Donegan (69-73) is 2-under 142, Roscich (77-70) and Sihan Sandhu (72-75) are 3-over 147 and Andrew Rlkey (80-73) is 9-over 153.

Arizona's Filip Jakubcik (68-66) is the individual leader at the halfway point at 10-under 134. He has a two-stroke advantage over Alabama's William Jennings and Louisiana's Malan Potgieter.

The Tar Heels will be paired with Oklahoma and San Diego in the third round, with the first tee time for the group at 10:47 a.m. Eastern.

The top 15 teams after the third round advance to the fourth and final round of stroke play on Monday. The top eight teams after Monday's round advance to match play, which begins on Tuesday.
