Roscich's 61 Ties All-Time UNC Record, Carolina Leads By 17
April 11, 2026 | Men's Golf
North Carolina sophomore Grant Roscich tied UNC's all-time 18-hole scoring record with a bogey-free 9-under-par 61 to lead the 11th-ranked Tar Heels to a 17-stroke advantage after 36 holes in the Tar Heel Intercollegiate Saturday at UNC Finley Golf Club.
Â
Roscich's 61 is the third in UNC history, joining current PGA Tour professional Ryan Gerard (2018 at Notre Dame) and teammate Hampton Roberts (last season at the Amer Ari Invitational in Hawai'i). The 61 included a 4-under-par 30 on the front nine and a 5-under 31 on the back. He closed with three birdies in the final five holes to set break his previous collegiate best by four strokes.
The 61 also breaks the course record for UNC Finley Golf Club, which was renovated in 2022-23 and re-opened in October 2023. Ball State's Braxton Kuntz shot 62 in the 2024 NCAA Regional and David Ford and Carson Bertagnole shot 62s in team qualifiers.
Â
Roscich began the day with a 2-under 68 in the morning round. The Glen Ellyn, Ill., native has a two-shot lead heading to Sunday at 11-under 129. Â
Â
UNC's Niall Sheils Donegan (64-67) is second at 9-under 131. Elon's Drew Yeagley is third at 8-under 132 and Roberts (67-68) is tied with Duke's Bryan Kim for fourth place at 5-under 135.
