Women's Lacrosse Heads North To Face Virginia Friday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 2 North Carolina women's lacrosse is heading north for an ACC match-up with Virginia on Friday at 4 p.m. This will be the 50th meeting between the two storied programs with Carolina holding a 35-14 advantage all-time.
The Heels' match-up with the Cavaliers will air on ACC Network. Jay Alter and Charlotte North will have the call.

- Now in her 31st season, HC Jenny Levy now has a career record of 453-131. The 453 wins rank second all-time and her four National Championships rank fourth all-time.
- UNC continues to play one of the toughest schedules in the country. They have nine of the current Top 25 teams on this year's schedule.
- Carolina is currently outscoring its opponents 216-82 (+134), which leads the nation. Last season, the Tar Heels led the nation in scoring margin at +233 (384-151).
- Carolina's defense held opponents to 6.9 goals per game in 2025, which ranked first in both the ACC and NCAA. This year, the Heels are holding opponents to 7.5 goals per game, which ranks seventh nationally and third in the ACC.Â
- UNC placed six players on the IL Women Midseason All-America team. Sam Forrest, Chloe Humphrey and Eliza Osburn were on the first team, while Addison Pattillo was named third team. Kate Levy and Brooklyn Walker-Welch were tabbed honorable mention.
- The nation's best player, Chloe Humphrey, continues to find ways to wow people and now has 57 goals and 26 assists this season. Her 57 goals and 83 points lead the nation and her 26 assists are tied for 20th. She now sits in 12th on UNC's all-time assists list after just 33 games. She is also tied for the team lead with 14 caused turnovers.
- Eliza Osburn has been stuffing the stat sheet in '26. After 11 games, Osburn has 22 goals, 11 assists, 14 groundballs, 10 caused turnovers and 23 draw controls.
- Kate Levy and Addison Pattillo were added to the Tewaaraton Award watch list for their strong starts to the season. Levy is sixth on the team in points (24) with 16 goals and eight assists. She's also added 13 groundballs, 10 caused turnovers and seven draw controls. Pattillo has been on a tear and is up to 35 goals on the year to go along with seven assists, 12 groundballs and 14 caused turnovers.
- Kaleigh Harden continues to be UNC's unsung hero in the midfield. She leads the team with 54 draw controls to go along with seven goals, an assist, 12 groundballs and eight caused turnovers.
- Sam Forrest and Brooklyn Walker-Welch are back playing together now that Walker-Welch has returned from injury. The dynamic defensive duo continues to make life hard on opposing offenses and leads a group allowing just 7.5 goals per game, while causing 10.8 turnovers per game.
