No. 1 Women’s Lacrosse Battles To 12-9 Win At No. 11 Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – Top-ranked North Carolina women's lacrosse staved off a late rally to down No. 11 Clemson, 12-9, on Wednesday. The Heels led 11-4 heading into the fourth quarter but the Tigers outscored UNC 5-1 in the fourth.
Chloe Humphrey led the way for UNC, matching her career high with seven goals, while adding two assists. Addison Pattillo and Kiley Mottice added a pair of goals each, while Darcy Felter provided two assists.
The Carolina defense hounded Clemson all night forcing 17 turnovers and posting nine caused turnovers. The Heels outshot Clemson 35-18, but the Tigers' goalie made 11 saves on the night to keep Clemson close.

- Chloe Humphrey opened the scoring with her 25th of the season.
- Carolina Godine made it 2-0 off a feed from Humphrey.
- Clemson pulled one back and a cagey first quarter finished with UNC leading 2-1.
- Kiley Mottice converted a free-position for her eighth of the season to make it 3-1.
- Humphrey added another seconds later on a free-position of her own to push UNC's lead to 4-1.
- Humphrey with another from Darcy Felter to secure her hat trick.
- Carolina has turned the pressure up on the ride producing a breakaway for Humphrey who converted to make it 6-1.
- Addison Pattillo notched her 15th on the year from Humphrey, extending UNC's run to five straight goals.
- Humphrey added her fifth of the half and Carolina led 8-2 at the break.
- Mottice with her second of the game from Eliza Osburn made it 9-3 early in the third.
- Humphrey with her sixth on a feed from Felter to make it 10-4 UNC.
- Patillo with her second of the game on a free position to push UNC's lead to 11-4.
- Humphrey tied her career high with her seventh goal of the game to make it 12-6 with 11:17 left in the fourth.
- Clemson scrambled to score the last three goals of the game, but the Heels lead was too much to overcome.

- The Tar Heels current 28-game winning streak is the longest in the nation. The 28-game streak is the second longest in program history and tied for the seventh longest in NCAA history.
- Chloe Humphrey posted her 24th hat trick in 28 career games, her 13th game of five or more goals and tied her career high with seven goals.
- Eva Ingrilli entered the game to start the fourth quarter, her first action since 2024.
