Men's Golf Finishes 6th At Sahalee

Arizona State edged Texas by one stroke to win the Sahalee Players Championship, while the North Carolina Tar Heels improved two spots in the third round to finish sixth in the season-opening tournament in Sammamish, Wash.

Andrew Riley led Carolina in the final round with a 1-under 71, while Misha Golod was UNC's top finisher overall with a tie for 20th at 5-over 221.

Riley, Carson Bertagnole and Sihan Sandhu all tied for 24th at 6 over par. Grant Roscich competed as an individual and tied for 30th at 8 over.

Pepperdine's Brady Siravo shot 73-68-72 to win the individual title at 3-under 213, one shot better than Texas' Daniel Bennett and San Diego State's Harry Takis.

ASU won at 3-over-par 867. Texas was second at 4 over, and UCLA (+9), the U.S. Development Team (+15), SDSU (+16) and Carolina (+21) rounded out the top half of the field.

The Tar Heels return to competition September 15-17 at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup in Lake Bluff, Ill.
