No. 1 Women’s Lacrosse Advances To NCAA Quarters After Defeating Clemson, 18-9

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Top-ranked North Carolina women's lacrosse used five goals from Marissa White, four from Chloe Humphrey and seven assists from Ashley Humphrey to breeze past Clemson, 18-9, on Sunday at Dorrance Field. The second-round match-up was the third game of the season between the Tar Heels and Tigers with the Heels going 3-0.
During today's game, Chloe Humphrey established a new NCAA record for goals by a freshman. Her 77 on the season moved her past Maryland's Karri Ellen Johnson, who held the record with 74. In addition, Ashley Humphrey set the UNC mark for single-season assists. She now has 77 on the season, bettering Katie Hoeg's mark of 73 from 2019.
The Tar Heels improved their nation-leading win streak to 19 games (19-0), while the Tigers fell to 14-7.

- Kaleigh Harden got on the board assisted by Caroline Godine to make it 2-0.

- Caroline Godine beat the first-quarter buzzer on an assist from Olivia Vergano to make the score 5-2 after one.
