No. 1 Women’s Lacrosse Claims ACC Regular Season Title

DURHAM, N.C. – Top-ranked North Carolina women's lacrosse left no doubt on Thursday evening, defeating 10th-ranked Duke, 18-6, to complete an undefeated regular season and claim the ACC regular season championship. The Tar Heels went undefeated in conference play for the sixth time in program history to secure the title.
UNC clinched its 11th ACC regular-season title and eighth outright championship. It previously won the regular season outright in 1998, 2012, '15, '16, '17, '21 and '22. UNC shared the regular-season title in 2000, '06 and '10. Thursday's win over Duke was Carolina's 16th consecutive victory over the Blue Devils.
The Tar Heels improved their nation-leading win streak to 15 games (15-0, 9-0 ACC), while the Blue Devils fell to 12-4 (6-3 ACC).

No. 1 North Carolina will travel to Charlotte as the one seed for the ACC Tournament. UNC will face Virginia Tech in the opening game of the Tournament on Wednesday, April 23 at 11 a.m. at American Legion Memorial Stadium. Semifinals will be played on Friday, April 25 and the final will take place on Sunday, April 27.
