Men's Lacrosse To Host Hofstra Saturday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The sixth-ranked North Carolina men's lacrosse team (4-1) is set to host Hofstra (4-1), Saturday morning at Dorrance Field in nonconference play.

Youth Lacrosse Day
• Saturday is Youth Lacrosse Day at Dorrance Field, with the first 300 kids in attendance receiving a free Carolina Lacrosse water bottle.

Wambach Wins ACC Honors
• On Tuesday, Brady Wambach was named the ACC's Defensive Player of the Week.
• In the two games last weekend, Wambach combined for 36 faceoff wins and 17 ground balls.
• The 21 faceoff-win effort against Princeton was a career-high for the sophomore.
• The 36 faceoff wins over two games was the most in two-game stretch during his career.

Petro's Hot Start
• On Thursday, attackman Dominic Pietramala was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, given annually to the top college lacrosse player.
• In the win at No. 4 Johns Hopkins, Pietramala led the Tar Heels with six goals, a career-high.
• The Lutherville, Md. product became the first Tar Heel with six-or-more goals since Chris Gray vs. Denver (3/5/2022).
• As of March 3rd, Pietramala leads the ACC with 21 goals, the third-most nationally.
• To begin the 2025 campaign, the redshirt-sophomore had 21 goals through five games, the most for a Tar Heel through the opening five games this century:
- 2025: Dominic Pietramala - 21 goals
- 2022: Chris Gray - 19 goals

Duffy Against Hofstra In '24
• Last season in the win at Hofstra, Owen Duffy scored four goals while dishing out five assists.
• The nine-point effort was a freshman single-game record, and the third most by a Tar Heel in a single game.
• The five assists was Duffy's career-high.
