Men's Soccer Wraps Up Road Swing At Lipscomb Tuesday Night

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina men's soccer will wrap up its three-match road swing on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. (ET) when it faces Lipscomb in Nashville. The Heels enter the match at 5-1-4 (1-0-4 ACC), while the Bisons currently sit at 1-6-3 (0-1-1 ASUN).

Carolina's match with Lipscomb will air on ESPN+.

Tar Heel Tidbits

This will be the first ever match-up between UNC and Lipscomb.
Head Coach Carlos Somoano is in his 15th season at the helm of Carolina soccer (24th overall). He holds a career record of 181-64-53.
With the focus primarily on RPI, Carolina sits at No. 14 entering the week, which is fourth among ACC squads.
Carolina is currently on a six-match unbeaten run, winning one and drawing the other four against one of the nation's toughest stretches. The Heels have only conceded two goals over the five games.
GK Andrew Cordes has played every minute in goal for the Tar Heels this season, posting a .818 save percentage. He has five clean sheets on the season, including three of the last four matches, and 25 for his career.
Nacho Abeal has made his presence felt over his first 10 matches as a Tar Heel. He currently leads the team in assists (5) and points (11) and ranks second in goals (3). He's now scored 14 goals during his collegiate career, including six game winners, to go along with 10 assists.
Despite missing two games, Gabriel Bracken Serra ranks second on the team in points with nine (4g/1a). He scored the sixth game winner of his career in UNC's win at Louisville on Friday.
Luca Nikolai started all 39 of his games at James Madison, notching five goals and six assists. He entered 2025 ranked No. 9 on TopDrawerSoccer's Top 100 list and is a member of the Mac Hermann Trophy Watch List.
