CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - A total of 13 different Tar Heels found the back of the net, as the North Carolina men's lacrosse team (5-3, 1-1 ACC) returned to the win column Sunday with a 25-7 defeat over Dartmouth (4-1). With the victory, head coach Joe Breschi secured his 150th victory as the leader of the Tar Heels.

How It Happened

Logan McGovern got scoring started 36 seconds after the opening whistle, marking the first of 11 unanswered goals for the Tar Heels.
Carolina quickly jumped out to a 4-0 lead four minutes in after a trio of goals from Henry Schertzinger, McGovern and Quintin O'Connell in a 60-second span.
Nine different goal scorers gave UNC an 11-0 lead after the first 15 minutes.
Dartmouth would open the second with three-straight goals, however P.J. Zinsner answered to halt the Big Green comeback.
The two programs would trade goals to close the half, as the Tar Heels led entering the intermission, 15-3.
In the third, five different UNC players would share the wealth in scoring, as the Tar Heels outscored Dartmouth 10-1.
In the final 15 minutes, Johnny Schwarz and Caden Whaling continued the trend, lifting North Carolina to victory.

Inside The Numbers

The outcome was McGovern's third four-goal outburst of the season.
Tillman and Sean Goldsmith joined McGovern, with four goals each.
Collin Krieg, George Kalos and Will Pettit anchored the defense, will allowed less than 10 goals for the sixth time in 2023.
Breschi becomes the 23rd head coach in North Carolina Athletics history to eclipse the 150-win mark during their time in Chapel Hill.
