North Carolina (11-2-3, 5-1-2) will host an ACC Championship Quarterfinal match on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. The opponent will be determined on Saturday at the conclusion of the Boston College-NC State match.
Each team hit the post in the second half of a match that was played end-to-end at times. Notre Dame (10-5-2, 3-3-2) finished with an 18-14 edge in shots.
UNC keeper James Pyle made two saves to notch his 10th shutout of the season and the 11th of the year for the Tar Heels. Chris Hubbard made one save for the Irish.
Carolina will enter the postseason having not conceded in 316 minutes, 28 seconds, going back to the Duke match on Oct. 14.
The draw with the Irish allowed UNC to finish the regular season with a 3-0-3 mark on the road this season, while Notre Dame is winless in its last five matches after entering the match Friday on a four-game losing streak.
