Women’s Lacrosse Claims Seven All-America Nods From USA Lacrosse
May 7, 2026 | Women's Lacrosse
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina women's lacrosse program placed seven players on USA Lacrosse's All-America teams, the organization announced on Thursday. The seven selections are tied for the most of any team in the country. Sam Forrest, Chloe Humphrey, and Eliza Osburn were named first team, while Kate Levy took second-team honors. Kaleigh Harden, Addison Pattillo and Brooklyn Walker-Welch landed on the third team.
A Glastonbury, Conn. native, Forrest burst onto the scene last season when she was named IWLCA Defender of the Year. She is a two-time Tewaaraton Top 25 honoree, the ACC Defender of the Year and a member of the U.S. National Team that will compete at the World Lacrosse Championships this summer. She was also drafted with the sixth pick in the WLL Draft by the Maryland Charm. The nation's top defender, Forrest is primarily tasked with marking opponents' top attacker and has routinely held them under their season averages. She held both her marks in the ACC Tournament semifinal and final pointless.
Humphrey, last year's Tewaaraton and Honda Sport Award for Lacrosse winner, has continued to elevate her game in 2026. She currently leads the nation in goals (92) and points (133), while her 41 assists are tied for 19th. A Tewaaraton Award finalist, Humphrey claimed ACC Attacker of the Year, first-team All-ACC and ACC Tournament MVP honors this season. She has become a staple with the U.S. National Team and will be a part of the squad that competes at the World Championships this summer.
A Castle Rock, Colo. native, Osburn has put herself in the discussion for the top midfielder in college lacrosse. The ACC Midfielder of the Year is a true two-way midfielder that excels on both ends of the field. She claimed All-America honors last year while being named ACC Freshman of the Year. Her game has only continued to elevate this season. She's scored 29 goals and dished out 17 assists to rank fourth on the team in points with 46. She's also grabbed 21 groundballs, caused 13 turnovers and secured 34 draw controls. Osburn is also a member of the U.S. National Team that will compete at the World Championships this summer.
A preseason All-American, Levy was a midseason add to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Another true two-way midfielder, she had a breakout game at Virginia that saw her cause six turnovers and grab five groundballs to earn National Defensive Player of the Week honors. In total, Levy has tallied 25 goals, 10 assists, 24 groundballs, 20 caused turnovers and 10 draw controls.
Harden, another true two-way middie, is making her first appearance on an All-America list. She's been a driving force for UNC's midfield this year and ranks second on the team with 76 draw controls. Harden's added nine goals, an assist, 17 groundballs and 12 caused turnovers.
Pattillo has flourished during her sophomore season after coming on strong late in her freshman campaign last year. She's currently second on the team in goals and points with 49 and 58 respectively. A dodging nightmare for defenders, Pattillo is also effective in the ride, having caused 15 turnovers to go along with 16 groundballs.
A four-time All-American, Walker-Welch remains one of the best defenders in the country. She's played in 13 games this season, starting 12, and tallied 18 groundballs and six caused turnovers. Walker-Welch is widely considered one of, if not, the best low defender in the country, who has the rare ability to dictate play on defense and then quickly transition to offense, helping UNC's attack be as formidable as it is.
The Tar Heels are getting ready for the NCAA Tournament and are the No. 2 overall seed. Carolina will play the winner of Clemson and Davidson on Sunday at noon on Dorrance Field.
