CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Diamond Heels roll into the midweek hot off a big weekend for a Tuesday night game against in-state foes High Point from just an hour west on I-40.

UNC holds an active 10 game win streak against the Panthers dating back to 2010. These teams last faced off in 2023, a 16-2 victory for the Heels that featured home runs from Vance Honeycutt and Hunter Stokely. Head coach Scott Forbes holds a perfect 12-0 record against teams from the Big South conference.

This is not a mid-major squad to be taken lightly, as the Panthers boast a series win over then No. 9 Florida in Gainesville (their only loss that weekend an 11-12 game on Sunday) along with midweek wins over Duke and Wake Forest.

MADE A STATEMENT ON A NATIONAL STAGE
➤ Over the weekend it was a battle of No. 3 and No. 2 as Carolina hosted Georgia Tech in the highest ranked matchup of the season in college baseball and the highest in Boshamer Stadium history.
➤ The Heels emerged victorious with wins in the first two games to take the monumental series.
➤ A 5-2 victory led things off on Friday as Jason DeCaro and the Carolina bullpen shut down the highest scoring offense in the nation. Three home runs powered the UNC attack to a massive opening night victory.
➤ Saturday it was all Heels as the home team ran away with a loud 14-4 run-rule on ACC Network.
➤ Three more home runs, highlighted by Owen Hull's second inning two-out grand slam, paired with more excellent pitching from Ryan Lynch and Walker McDuffie secured the marquee series for the Diamond Heels.
➤ GT battled back for a Sunday win 5-2, but the damage had already been done. Carolina had claimed its highest ranked home series win since sweeping No. 1 Virginia in 2011.

HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHTIN HEELS
➤ For Carolina, it was the first time it being a part of a top-3 matchup since 2008 when they had two such heavyweight fights. The first was against Florida State in a temporary home in Cary as the Bosh was being remodeled. Both teams ranked No. 2 by various polls, UNC won the Sunday rubber match thanks to a Kyle Seager go-ahead RBI single in the seventh.
➤ The second in '08 came in Coral Gables against then No. 1 Miami. The No. 2 Heels dropped the opener before rallying to win the next two games and earn the program's first-ever consensus No. 1 ranking.
➤ The only other top-3 series on record came a year earlier in 2007 as No. 2 UNC lost the weekend two games to one against No. 1 FSU in Tallahassee.
➤ With the '08 contests being played in Cary at the USA Baseball National Training Complex, the GT series was the highest ranked regular season match up in Boshamer Stadium's history.

NO PLACE LIKE THE BOSH
➤ The Tar Heels have won 77.2 percent of their home games under Scott Forbes, going 164-48-1.
➤ The 2025 squad racked up a 29-9 (.763) home record, winning five of seven series.
➤ The Tar Heels boasted a 37-3 record at Boshamer Stadium in 2024, winning a program record 92.5 percent of its games at home.
➤ It was the 13th time in program history the Tar Heels won 30 or more home games.
➤ Originally opened in 1972 before reopening in 2009 after a $26 million renovation, the Bosh has been the site for many magical memories. Since '09, the Heels have hosted 10 regionals and eight supers in their palace affectionately referred to as the "Augusta National of College Baseball."

➤ The Heels have compiled a 119-35-1 (.771) record in games against non-ACC opponents under Forbes. This team is currently 18-1-1 out of conference.
➤ Last season, they were 25-4 against out of conference foes. The 2024 team was 24-6.
