Heels Begin Third Week Of Scrimmages On Friday

Chapel Hill, NC--Â Â The North Carolina Tar Heels held their first scrimmage since playing a doubleheader against Charlotte last Saturday when they hit the field at Boshamer Stadium for a seven-inning scrimmage on Friday afternoon. It was an absolutely perfect day for baseball.
Offensive Highlights:Â Â Four Tar Heels had two hits apiece. Jadyn Nunez, who doubled, was 2-3 with one RBI and one run scored. Tyler Howe was also 2-3 with one RBI and one run scored. Davis Baker was 2-4 with one run scored, while Cooper Nicholson was 2-4 with one RBI.
Three players blasted round-trippers. Erik Paulsen nailed a 412-foot homer to right, Perry Hargett ripped a 396-foot homer to left-center, and Kole Fenton had a 371-foot homer to left.
Pitching Highlights:Â Â Nine pitchers saw action: Caden Glauber, Folger Boaz, Jackson Rose, Walker McDuffie, Sean Hurley, Camron Seagraves, Ryan Smith, Amos Rich and Tim Lawson.
McDuffie struck out four in his 2.1 innings of work. Seagraves struck out the only two batters he faced. Rose threw 1.2 scoreless innings, while Hurley also threw a scoreless inning. Boaz struck out five while walking none in his 4.0 innings on the mound.
Carolina will hold its next scrimmage on Saturday.
