Carolina Goes 8 1/2 Innings On Saturday

Chapel Hill, NC--Â Â The North Carolina Tar Heels held an 8 1/2 inning scrimmage at Boshamer Stadium on Saturday afternoon on another glorious day for baseball in Chapel Hill.
Offensive Highlights:Â Perry Hargett was 2-4 with two RBI and one run scored. Hargett had a double and a triple. CJ Egrie was 3-3 with three singles, driving in one run and scoring two.
Devin Russell, who belted a 428-foot homer to left-center, was 2-3 with one RBI and one run scored. Erik Paulsen was 2-4 with two RBI and one run scored. Erik Paulsen had a 366-foot homer to right-center that just cleared the fence. Harrison Ailshie popped a 345-foot homer to left that was just inside the foul pole. Blaize Johnson's double was the scrimmage's other extra-base hit.
Pitching Highlights:Â Jimmy Voorhies, Major Osbolt, Preston Crowl, Scott Doran, Tim Tyler and Rhett Britt were the six pitchers who saw action.
Voorhies gave up two runs on two hits while striking out four in 4.0 innings. Crowl gave up no earned runs in 3.0 innings. Doran tossed 3.0 scoreless innings, giving up just one hit. Britt hurled 2.0 scoreless innings by giving up no hits, striking out two and walking none.
Carolina will hold its next scrimmage on Sunday afternoon.  Â
