CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina women's tennis will jump back into fall tournament action at the ITA Hall of Fame Classic this weekend in Virginia. Four Tar Heels will compete in the tournament hosted at William & Mary starting Saturday morning.
Along with UNC, the six-team event includes William & Mary, USC, Princeton, Liberty, and UNCW. The tournament will be played in a hidden dual format with Carolina opening the competition against athletes from William & Mary at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
UNC will send a variety of upperclassmen and newcomers to Virginia this weekend. Alanis Hamilton leads the way for the competing Tar Heels with a 5-2 record in singles this fall. Carolina is also sending freshmen Aya Manning and Avery Nguyen to play in the Hall of Fame Classic.
The Tar Heels head into the weekend after their recent appearance at ITA All-Americans. Carolina boasted the doubles championship after No. 8 Zampardo/Maltby downed their competition from Ohio State to secure the title and All-America status this fall.
