Women’s Tennis Advances At ITA All-Americans

CARY, N.C. – Carolina women's tennis continued Main Draw play at the ITA All-American Championships on Thursday.
In singles, No. 95 Nicole Khirin picked up the Tar Heels' only win for the day. The graduate earned another ranked win after topping No. 16 Anastasiia Grechkina from Pepperdine in straight sets. With the win, Khirin advances to the round of 16 in Main Draw.
No. 8 Zampardo/Maltby continued their strong start at All-Americans with a win over No. 43 Yakoff/Karra from Harvard. The duo advances to the quarterfinals of Main Draw as the only Carolina duo left in the winner's bracket.
In the consolation bracket for doubles, Rabman/Manning recorded a ranked win over their opponents from Wichita State. The Tar Heels dropped the first set but stormed back to take the second and third set tiebreak.

ITA All-American Championships
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association will hold their 43rd annual All-American Championship this coming week. The tournament continues to highlight the nation's top tennis players while providing the athletes an opportunity to clinch a spot at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
Ten singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists). Meanwhile, five doubles teams (5) will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships (four main draw semifinalists, consolation champion).
