Maltby & Zampardo Set For ITA All-American Doubles Championship

CARY, N.C. – Carolina women's tennis continued their run in Main Draw play at the ITA All-American Championships on Saturday. No. 8 Susanna Maltby/Maddy Zampardo picked up another win to advance to the ITA All-American Championship in doubles while No. 21 Tatum Evans rolled through the competition in the Consolation Draw of singles.
Maltby/Zampardo secured their spot in the championship match on Sunday after cruising past their opponents from Texas. The duo downed No. 17 Herea/Nijkamp (6-1, 6-2). The Tar Heel pair improves to 7-0 this season.
Evans earned two ranked wins in the singles Consolation Draw to advance to the semifinals. She opened the day with a straight-set win over No. 54 Emma Dong from Georgia before topping No. 80 Linea Bajraliu from Georgia in three sets.

ITA All-American Championships
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association will hold their 43rd annual All-American Championship this coming week. The tournament continues to highlight the nation's top tennis players while providing the athletes an opportunity to clinch a spot at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
Ten singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists). Meanwhile, five doubles teams (5) will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships (four main draw semifinalists, consolation champion).
