Maltby/Zampardo win ITA All-American Doubles Title

CARY, N.C. – Carolina women's tennis concluded their run at the ITA All-American Championships Sunday afternoon. No. 8 Susanna Maltby and Maddy Zampardo were crowned ITA All-American doubles champions.

Maltby/Zampardo capped off their impressive run at All-Americans by sweeping the third ranked team in the country. The Tar Heels started the match against No. 3 Perry/Johnson with a 6-0 set one win. Maltby/Zampardo continued to roll past their Buckeye opponents with a 6-1 win in set two to clinch the championship title. Their championship win also secures the duo All-America status for the fall.

Sunday's win marks just the second ITA All-American Doubles Championship title in program history for Carolina. Maltby/Zampardo became the first Tar Heels since Jessie Aney/Hayley Carter in 2016 to win the championship.

Ten singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists). Meanwhile, five doubles teams (5) will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships (four main draw semifinalists, consolation champion).
