October 6, 2026 | Men's Soccer
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – University of North Carolina men's soccer standout Joschi Schelb has been named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. Schelb led Carolina to two victories last week over West Florida and Boston College, tallying three goals and an assist.
Schelb, a transfer from Rutgers and a native of Freiburg, Germany, has made his mark in Chapel Hill since arriving last spring. He's totaled nine goals and an assist on the season and is 0.9 goals per game ranks first in the ACC and is tied for third nationally. Schelb's 1.9 points per game also lead the conference and are tied for seventh in the country.
Schelb found the back of the net in each of UNC's first two matches and then followed with a tally at Cal. He's caught fire recently having produced at least one goal in each of Carolina's last five matches, including his first brace of the year at BC. He also notched his first assist in UNC's match with West Florida, a slick square ball for Faraji Ramani's first career goal.
The Tar Heels are currently on a three-match winning streak and host Notre Dame on Saturday at 7 p.m. on Dorrance Field and Play2Dream Legacy Stadium during Alumni Weekend.
