CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina men's soccer team claimed a 3-1 victory over Lipscomb on Dorrance Field at Play2Dream Legacy Stadium Saturday night. The Tar Heels used two goals in two minutes to open the second half, cementing the win. Ryan Zellefrow opened the scoring off a cross from Bertil Rygaard Hansen. Then, Joschi Schelb and Zellefrow combined in the box with Schelb slotting home past the keeper. Dan Klink chipped the keeper late to add a third for UNC.

The Heels now stand at 3-2-3 on the year with Lipscomb falling to 3-5-1.

Carolina looked dangerous in the first half, but failed to break through before halftime. But, the Heels came out on fire in the second. If not for an awkward bouncing ball that fell kindly to one of the Bisons, Carolina would have ended the night with a clean sheet as well.

How It Happened

21' – Joschi Schelb and Bertil Rygaard Hansen played a nice 1-2 at the top of the box, but Schelb's attempt on goal was tipped wide of the bar.
24' – Ryan Zellefrow weaved through traffic and fired one into the keeper's belly.
35' – Some more nice combination play between Schelb and Ryan Dugan led to a rocket of a shot that slammed off one of the Bisons' head and cleared from danger.
47' – Bertil Rygaard Hansen tracked down a cross and blew past his defender, crossing towards the middle, and Zellefrow was there to slam it home for a 1-0 lead.
49' – Just two minutes later Schelb and Zellefrow played a 1-2 in the box and Schelb slotted home for the Heels' second.
69' – Lipscomb pulled one back after a bouncing ball in the back fell kindly to Alejandro Valcarce Marin, who buried it in the corner.
89' – Lipscomb's keeper came out to try and clear a ball but Dan Klink was there and lobbed the keeper for UNC's third.

Ryan Zellefrow's goal was his second of the season and the seventh of his career.
Joschi Schelb's goal was his sixth of the season and the 26th of his career.
Dan Klink's goal was his first of the season and the seventh of his career.
