CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Ninth-ranked Notre Dame (7-3, 3-1 ACC) secured a 12-6 victory over No. 5 North Carolina (9-3, 2-1 ACC), Saturday afternoon at Dorrance Field in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
How It Happened
• Carolina led after the opening quarter, 4-0, with a goal each from James Matan, Brevin Wilson, Ty English and Mason Szewczyk.
• Notre Dame's Chris Kavanagh scored the second quarter's lone goal, as the Tar Heels held a three-goal lead at the half.
• The Fighting Irish outscored Carolina 6-2 in the third quarter, with Dominic Pietramala and Ryan Levy hitting the back of the net.
• In the final 15 minutes, Notre Dame scored five-straight goals to secure the victory.

• Six different Tar Heels scored one goal on the day.
• Matt Wrede led Carolina with two points in the matchup, both via assists.
