Men's Lacrosse Clinches Share Of Regular Season, Defeats No. 10 Syracuse, 14-12

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Six goals from Dominic Pietramala paced eighth-ranked North Carolina men's lacrosse (10-3, 3-1 ACC) over No. 10 Syracuse (9-5, 2-2 ACC), 14-12.
With the win, the Tar Heels clinch a share of the ACC regular season title, the 14th in program history and the first since 2021.
How It Happened
• A back-and-forth opening quarter produced a two-all first 15 minutes, with James Matan and Spencer Wirtheim hitting the back of the net for Carolina.
• Syracuse scored the second quarter's first two goals, taking a 4-2 lead with 8:51 remaining in the first half.
• The Tar Heels answered on a 4-0 run to end the half, with a hat trick courtesy of Dominic Pietramala and Brevin Wilson's sixth goal of the campaign, taking a 6-4 lead into the break.
• Carolina outscored the Orange 4-3 in the third quarter, with Pietramala pouring in two more goals, and a score each from Wirtheim and Caden Harshbarger.
• The visiting Tar Heels opened the fourth quarter converting on three of the first four goals, leading 14-8 with 3:01 remaining in the matchup.
• Syracuse closed the game on a 4-0 run, as Carolina held on for the 14-12 victory.
